Singing is one of life's greatest joys. the good news is that you don't have to be a professional singer to get the full benefits. i have conducted a survey of my existing and past students: here are some of the benefits they reported as a result of taking singing lessons from me:

If you've never sung before or even if you have but never understood the physical mechanics behind singing, it's very important you know exactly what is happening when you sing. Many coaches don't even tell their students what the physical parts of the voice are doing when they sing. With Paul Sterling you will understand every part of the voice so that you can utilize it to its full potential.

In ideal circumstances, a voice has no registers. It is one smoothed out instrument. From lowest to highest pitch, the singer moves without flipping or breaking, without noticeable shifts to the listener. All with ease, no forcing or pushing needed.

 There are six useable parts of a persons voice, they are; Vocal fry, Chest voice, Middle voice, Head voice, Whistle, and Falsetto. I'll describe just Chest, Middle, and Head. The other voices are used almost entirely for style, and should be worked on after smoothing out the most common bridges.

Students: My students range from complete beginners who never performed outside the privacy and security of their shower, to seasoned professionals looking for a competitive edge, and everything in between. Age range is from 6 to 60's. I do believe that it is never too early or late to start taking singing lessons.

Outcomes: You will learn musicianship, resonance, breathing, pitch, placement, projection, phrasing, and all correct singing techniques.


Audition preparation: I teach actors to sing and singers to act. If you are preparing for an upcoming singing or acting audition, a few lessons with me will help boost your confidence and will considerably increase your chances of getting the gig.
